• Kulungkung locates near Ubud and is 40 km from Denpasar. It is a biggest city in the east district. Horse, decorated with red ribbon on ears, runs a carriage and rings a bell.

• Kllungkung kingdom in Bali east is successor of Gelgel Kingdom which was a suzerain state in Bali Kingdom. It is a long and distinguished Kingdom. Kulungkung was a center of Bali just before Dutch reigned there in 1908 for 300 years. It created the current Bali culture.

• Denpasar is a capital like Tokyo and Klungkung or Gelgel is a Bali's old city and they were thought as Kyoto or Nara in Japan. Kulungkung Kingdom is also called as Semarapura Kingdom. There is a market around the palace and crowded with many people. Today's Kulungkung is a small city with population of 20,000 to 30,000.

• Kerta Gosa Palace in center of the city is called the floating palace because is surrounded pond of lotus. Today's palace was destroyed at the 1908 war. And it was reconstructed. A part of the palace was used as justice and actually used until 1942.

• There is a museum in the area of the palace and it exhibits clothes of Barong dance or excavated articles.
