• The mountain railroad station to Zugspitze 2,962m of a German highest peak in the is on the other side of Garmisch-Partenkirchen station. It is called Zugspitz train station. It can almost go to the top of the mountain by the train. Name of the mountain explains as Zug=train spitze=sharp or "Railroad Mountain". This mountain railway has opened July 8, 1930 with white and blue painted body that is the symbol color of Bavaria state. It takes one hour and quarter from Zugspitz mountain railway station in Garmisch to Zugspitz-platt station on top of the mountain by the railway. It climbs by the rope way from the Zugspitz-platt of above sea level 2600m to the top of mountain station of above sea level 2946m. It takes only 4 minutes. The top of a mountain is covered with snow even in May. It is necessary to prepare for the cold and wind. Another way to climb the mountain is to use rope way from the Eib lake station of above sea level 1000m to the top of the mountain directly by 2000m though we did not use this time.

• The top station of Zugspitze mountain train has shops and restaurants. In this restaurant, we can take the full dinners just like the ground though it is at the high mountain of 3000m. It is surprise. Anyway, while eating dinners, we can look down at mountains and the cloud of the German Alps just below.

• A lot of skiing games are held in Garmisch of starting point to climb up to Zugspitze. The fourth Olympic Winter Games was held in 1936. The World Cup jump rally, that is held especially on the every New Year's Day, is famous.
