• Shoka Cram School is the small lodge of about 50 square meter of wooden, clay tile roofing and one-storied house construction. It consists of the eight mats lecture room, the ten mat half of anteroom and two square meter of earth floor. It accepted as a pupil without being caught in the position and the class, and it became the mainspring of Meiji Restoration with Genzui Kusaka, Shinsaku Takasugi, Hirofumi Ito, Yamagata Aritomo, kengi Yamada, Yajiro Shinagawa et al., and Shoin Yoshida brought up a lot of men of exceptional talent though it was for only two and a half years. It is specified for the historic site in the country. The following three paragraphs are quoted from the standing signboard of the explanation.

• Country specification historic site Shokasonjuku or Shoka Cram School specified on October 12, 1922 : Shoin Yoshida remodeled the hut, that existed in 1857 as parents' family house, into the eight mats cram school. In addition, 10 mat half was extended the next year. This is the current Shoka Cram School and it was 27 years old in Shoin Yoshida. Yoshida's education here was only one year, and two and a half years even if the captured years in his family home are totaled. In this short period, from this coarse classroom, young pupils of the cram school group were brought up. They carried on the will of the master who died in the Ansei Purge, and have guided new Japan from the restoration government though it volunteers to overthrowing the shogun's movement and though main people died at kaleidoscopic period of Meiji Restoration.　Hagi City Educational Committee

• The old house where Shoin Yoshida captured : He was captured in this old house several years since 1855. It was a room of 3 mat half on the east side. Shoin failed in an overseas making a passage by the U.S.Army warship in Izu Shimoda city, and was captured by the jail in Edo Temmacho Town. Next, he was sent to Hagi city or Glover bush city and caught in a jail. Later it became release and his father got him in a small room. It was penitent in the captured room, and concentrated on reading and writing though. And, he lectured on Mencius and the paragon of knighthood to children in the close member of the family and the vicinity.　Hagi City Educational Committee

• The Kagetsu house (Flower Moon House) : In tearoom "Kagetsu House", seven generation feudal lord, Shigenari Mori, constructed in the detached residence of Mitajiri (now Hofu City) in 1776. It was based on the blueprint in the Kagetsu House which was presented by the head of a school of Omote-senke Style Tea Sect that draws Rikyu's sect. Successor of feudal lord Shigenari gave it to Tea Master, Kyuwa Taketa. The building was dismantled and reconstructed in the residence of Hiyako and "Kagetsu House Core record" was made in the commemoration. Yajiro Shinagawa was preserving this building in home of near Matsmoto Bridge in 1888. It was dismantled and reconstructed in 1959 to the present location. The tearoom, which was designed to hold the tea party of the Kagetsu type in the middle of Edo period, is a tearoom of the Kagetsu House type. Hagi City Educational Committee
